His research examines the representational histories of drug use and deviance.He is the author of&nbsp;<em>The American Pipe Dream: Performing Drug Addiction, 1890-1940<\/em>&nbsp;from Iowa University Press. He is the co-editor of&nbsp;<em>Performing the Progressive Era: Immigration, Nationalism, and Urban Life<\/em>&nbsp;also with Iowa. She received her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. He is a core faculty member within the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program with Major Area of Study in Trauma. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Idaho State University, and completed his postdoctoral research fellowship at the National Center for PTSD within the VA Boston. His program of research focuses on co-occurring PTSD and substance use disorders among women that have experienced interpersonal violence.
